About the Charlottesville Chapter
Charlottesville is the headquarters of Virginia Organizing and also has an active local chapter. Local residents work on a variety of issues included budget and tax reform, health care reform and economic and ending predatory lending. The Charlottesville Chapter famously fought for a living wage for UVA workers and continues to fight for local workers' rights and social and ecnonomic justice issues.
Virginia Organizing supports dozens of smaller organizations through its program group work. Many organizations from Charlottesville take advantage of this program including C-ville Community Bikes, Banah Familia, The Blue Ridge Radio Project and The Bridge/Progressive Arts Initiative to name a few.
The Charlottesvillle chapter reaches to communities all across Charlottesville through civic engagement activities like public events, lobby days, phone banks and canvassing.
