Bob Becker

Bob Becker joined the Virginia Organizing staff in January 2011.  Bob is focusing on organizing in the small business community in Virginia.  Prior to coming to Virginia Organizing Bob had a 20 year organizing career that started here in Virginia with Virginia Action.  Bob organized for seven years with Save Our Cumberland Mountains on stripmining and other local issues.  He spent eleven years with the Tennessee Industrial Renewal Network working on trade and living wage issues.  Most recently Bob served seven years on Knoxville City Council as well as two years as the Vice-Mayor.  Bob recently married the author CA Schmidt and they live with her son in Richmond.
