White Ally 4.0

June 17, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

A skills-based workshop to gain tools for honest and more effective conversations about race with white friends, relatives, and neighbors.

Questions that will be addressed in the workshop:

How can a white anti-racist ally speak to racism skeptics in a way that is effective and not off-putting?

What are some strategies for allies to courageously stand up for their beliefs and avoid being stereotyped as a reactive liberal?

What do research findings tell us about the effectiveness of various
strategies for helping racism skeptics broaden their view of issues like white privilege, structural racism and unfair treatment by institutions?
