Proud to be a part of this movement

I am so incredibly proud to be a part of Virginia Organizing.

I’m writing today to tell you a bit about my Virginia Organizing story and ask you to consider making a monthly donation of $10 to help us keep doing the successful grassroots organizing work we’ve been doing for the last 22 years.

In December, I drove from my home in Danville down US-360 to Capitol Square in Richmond to meet the Governor of Virginia and celebrate our progress on Restoration of Rights in the Commonwealth. I never thought I’d be standing in the Executive Mansion shaking hands with the Governor when I first got involved in Virginia Organizing back in 2014, but we — and I — have come a long way over the past few years.

As a returning citizen, I’ve seen what Virginia Organizing can do for individuals trying to participate in our democratic processes — I was able to get my civil rights restored working with Virginia Organizing. But I also know what Virginia Organizing does for communities.

Thanks to Virginia Organizing, my community is stronger than it was five years ago, but we still have a lot of work to do.

I became a monthly donor to Virginia Organizing to continue this work and grow our movement and build up our communities. Will you join me by making a gift of just $10 a month to support an organization that is changing lives and building power across the state of Virginia?

Thank you for considering this request!

Sincerely,

Marty Jackson
Danville

P.S. If $10 each month does not work for you, please send what you can. I am proud to be connected to a group that also works on climate change, immigration reform, health care reform, Social Security, women’s rights, criminal justice reform, LGBTQ rights, dismantling racism, fair elections, living wages, and more.
