Virginia Organizing Responds to Immigration Decision

For Immediate Release: June 23, 2016

Richmond, Va.—Virginia Organizing Chairperson Ladelle McWhorter issued the following in response to the U.S. Supreme Court 4-4 tie decision in United States v. Texas:

“Virginia Organizing is heartbroken for the immigrant families who will not have an opportunity for relief under the extended DACA and DAPA programs. We will continue to organize for comprehensive immigration reform and stand with those families being torn apart by outdated and unjust immigration policies that Congress refuses to act on. We urge Congress to stop deportations that rip families apart while we fix our broken immigration system.”
